Never give way to despair

People can give way to despair in any situation. Financial impact, loss of work and salary, quarrel with a friend, family problems can be a reason of a hard depression. Psychological recovery is a very long and hard process especially for those who are of middle or pre-retirement age. They seem to be lost and do not know what to do. Alcohol and sedative medicines won’t help. There must be another way out.

First of all, look at your family people. They are with you. They have real compassion and not only compassion. Try to make a family brainstorming, especially if you have children who are already grown-ups and work. You have friends. They have friends. Just write down all your skills, professional levels, gifts and try to decide what can be done.

If you have got good relations with children, try your talents at schooling.

If you are a good driver, try to teach young people to drive a car.

You have many things at your hands, just choose a proper one.

I think it can help.

Never give way to despair.

Teenage depression

Teenage depression isn’t just normal teenage angst. Teenage depression can be very serious and in fact it can lead to some more serious problems if it is not dealt with on a rather immediate level. But many of us grew up in the era of chronic teenage depression. You know the one, during the nineties, when teens were places on many antidepressant medications only to flip out some time later. It was nice that the studies were finally released that indicated these medications were not approved for children under eighteen. Now we see teenage depression and have no idea whether we should treat it or not. After all, our own teenage depression led to some pretty serious drug induced consequences, and many of us grew up to find out there was nothing wrong with us to begin with. There is a rather simple bottom line. Teenage depression is the number one cause of teen drug and alcohol abuse, as well as teen suicide. When a teenager has become withdrawn and is not acting as thought there is any joy in their life it is time for some type of intervention. Get numerous opinions before you go down the medication path but by all means, look into the problem before things become totally out of control. Teen depression is a very serious problem and more of us need to stop projecting our own experiences onto the teens of today. We owe it to them to look beyond what we know and find another solution to their problem.
